Christ Church is a worshipping community, and it is important that we come together regularly to worship and pray. We have two opportunities for worship each Sunday, each with a different style and focus.
Our worship at 9am is quiet and reflective. Most Sundays we celebrate Communion at this service, either using the order of service from Common Worship, or from the more traditional Book of Common Prayer.
There tends not to be any singing, and there is often a short reflection on the Bible readings from the day.
10:30am Morning Praise
Our 10:30am worship is informal. This service includes a time of singing songs of worship to God. The music is usually led by someone playing the guitar or keyboard. We listen to a passage from the Bible and then a talk which helps to explore what the passage might be saying to us today. There is also a time of prayer where we pray for others, and also opportunities for us to receive prayer for ourselves.
The first Sunday of each month tends to be “inter-generational”. This is where all adults and children all worship and learn together. On the other Sundays, we have specific activities for children. We usually share Communion together on the last Sunday of the month.
